Jonas - 18-21 mos; Josie - 4.5 years old!

Josie's 46/47/48 month stats: 43 lbs, 3'8" inches, 6T in clothing, size 10 shoes

Josie's favorite books/songs: Miss Nelson is Missing; Dewy the Library Cat; All "Critter" books. We rediscovered this personalized CD where all of the songs include her name so that's been huge in this house. We also integrated a Google Home system and the requests for Disney songs are plentiful. Thanks, Google.

Josie's favorite movies/tv shows: Aladdin (live action), Pippi Longstocking; PeeWee's Playhouse (much to my chagrin), Rainbow Rangers

Josie's greatest hits: She is full of hilarity and wisdom and sass, as per usual. Read on.
  • Josie: "Mama, what do you want to be when you grow up?" Me: "An educational psychologist. What do you want to be?" Josie: "Snow White! No, wait. I want to be just like you. I want to be you!" (and cue the tears - mine, not hers)
  • Josie: “Mama, I have a question for you.” Me: “Shoot” Josie: “Was it important that I was born?” Me: “Yes honey, very important.”
  • “Mama, I don’t want a brother anymore. Can we go back in time and instead get a cat?”
  • "Mama, may I have milk please? Okay thank you, mission accomplished”
  • “Mom, why are you throwing these (old leopard-print flats) away? I wanted to wear them when I am 42. Or 10.”
  • Grammy: "Josie, what color is your brain?" Josie: “Glitter!”
  • Josie: “That must be someone else’s puppy in our yard. Mommy, speaking of yards, can we go and play in ours for a little bit?”
  • Josie: "Hey mama. When I grow up, I want to be a doctor. I want to be a chiropractor so I can be with Daddy all day and help him feel better." Me: "That's great - solid plan." Josie: "And, Jonas, what do you want to be?: Jonas: "My Daddy." Josie: (in the most condescending voice possible) "Ohhhhh that's so cute, Jonas. You want to be a Daddy and I want to be a doctor. A-dor-able."
Josie's new tricks

Josie had her first dance recital and she was magnificent! It's amazing to see how much joy she experiences performing! This was absolutely one of the highlights of my year. She also received a working microphone and has been screeching singing all of her favorite songs.

She's quite the budding artist. She's always created art and now her pieces are beginning to resemble her intentions. Check out this airplane!

Check out her new school photo!

Jonas' new tricks

We have a dance obsession. Well, dance and tutu obsession.

We've also become more independent at the park!

And the performance bug has officially hit all Young offspring.

Jonas has also caught the fear of monsters bug, which means he is officially my child. Really, he is afraid of the loud air conditioning unit but we have to check for monsters regularly. Poor guy. It's hard to tell him there are not monsters when I really know they exist! :D

In other Young family news...

We spent a fun Halloween with some of our best friends in our area!

Our Maleficent and Dopey were hilarious! Josie thought it was very funny that she was "my mom" (I was Snow White).

We celebrated Thanksgiving with Grammy, Grampy, and all of the Krause kids and their families!

Mama spent special time with Grampy who is bravely battling pancreatic cancer.

We took sweet holiday photos.

Twice. But so worth it.

We had our favorite annual holiday guests, Tia Crystal and Uncle Paul!
Josie opted to get them both hats as gifts - for second year in a row!

We had our annual Trail of Lights visit!

And wore matching jammies!

We added to our holiday decor collection (snowman and llama)

Santa hats were huge and Jonas made his own "ho ho ho" video.

And...Josie and Jonas continue to be obsessed with each other.

Can't you just feeeeel the love in this one?

Until next time...

Xoxo,

J Cubed
