11 Months Old!

Okay, it seems a little bit silly penning Josie's 11 month post one week before her first birthday but as I'm doing this, I'm doing 7 other things too. We moved to Austin to ssssllllooooowww down - maybe when Josie is 13 and on 56 sports teams + ballet + French lessons + + +...

Josie's 11 month stats: More hairs. 1/2 of a tooth more, totaling 2.5 teeth.

Josie's new foods: She basically eats everything we eat, but in teeny tiny bites. I'm going to scrap this category from here on out.

Josie's new words: up, cool, car

Josie's latest feats:

This little angel loves to chomp down on my fingers and then giggle as I howl. One might ask why I keep putting my fingers inside of her mouth, to which one might reply: "I don't know."

She's making slam dunks and shrieking with delight! I don't know that LeBron has ever been as pleased with himself for this move. Even in the playoffs.

I've started calling Josie Godzilla because she loves taking enormous steps up and down the stairs (with assistance), trampling any toy building or car in her path. No baby steps for her.

Josie's crawling like a drunken pirate escaping from an evening thick with the grog. Ahoy! Here's a combo of Godzilla + drunken pirate + unpacking (one of her favorite hobbies) + signature Josie babble.

Since adopting the most senior member of our household (in dog years, ahem), Josie's been learning a) how to have a big sister and b) how to pet Colby. It's super adorable. And, much like human sisters, they like to match their accessories. Colby will throw a FIT if she doesn't get her headband too.

Josie's been swimming like a little fish. Sometimes we wear our swimsuits...and sometimes we do not.

We're doing some unassisted standing. And reading. Josie's interpretations of her books seem very complex and animated. She is trying to communicate so hard. It's precious. Of course, her body guard is always close by.

In other Young family news:

We've been visiting with our friends. Here's Josie with little Lovell (age 2.5) who announced: "I'm watering her so she grows." I hope some of that magic water lands on her head. Homegirl needs a few more tresses.

The sweet Merritts came to town! I love this photo of the dads and their chunks.

We've been helping our friends celebrate their birthdays! Happy birthday, Russ!!

Dad's been doing some grilling. We've learned BBQ is the food produced from grilling (or smoking) but one does not BBQ as a verb lest one seem like Texas novice.

We had a great visit from Grandma, for whom we're putting the hard sell on moving to Austin + Grandpa. She's 74.3% of the way there. :)

We celebrated the 4th of July with some of our favorite Texans.

But, seriously. This is the best picture I've ever seen. Minus Josie's diaper cameo.

Until next time!

Love,
J cubed
