28 and 29 Months Old!

Josie's 28 and 29 month stats34.5 lbs, 3T approaching 4T in clothing, size 6 diapers, size 7 shoes, 37.5 inches tall (a gain of 3 inches in a few months!)

Josie's new sentences and vocab. She is completely communicating now using large and small sentences, but these are this month's greatest hits:

Recounting conversations from "I'm sick" chronicles:

Josie: I don't feel good.
Me: Oh no! What's wrong?
Josie: I'm sick.
Me: What hurts? Your tummy, your throat?
Josie: My arm hurts.
Me: Your arm hurts? Why does your arm hurt?
Josie: Because I miss my friend.

Josie: I'm sick
Me: Oh no! What's wrong?
Josie: I'm sick because I don't want to be a kangaroo.

Josie: I'm sick
Me: Oh no! What hurts?
Josie: I'm sick because I need to play doctor.

Other Josie phrases:

"Read me a dory!" Current fave: A is for Activist (thanks Auntie Mera!)
*Must be read no less than twice in a row

We're working on our double consonants but there's a part of me who always wants her to pronounce snowman like "no-man" forever.

Josie's new tricks

Playing doctor is huge in this house. Dr. Josie is ready to examine you with her...

Josie's also been all about the "I love yous" lately. Turn up the volume - there's no picture here because it was allegedly bedtime.

WE WENT PEEPEE IN THE POTTY.
I honestly never thought I would celebrate excretory processes but when this is what happened when I heard my child peed in the potty (at daycare):

Teacher: Josie peed in the potty today like a big girl!
What I heard: Josie won the Nobel Peace Prize for simultaneously curing cancer and world hunger, and establishing world peace.

We celebrated so hard that night and it really hasn't happened since. :)

In other Young family news:

We attended Peppa Pig's Surprise
We spent an ungodly amount of money on Peppa Pig Live tickets. It was as ridiculous as it sounds and what's best is Josie's strongest recollection from the evening is peeing on Grandma.

We spent Thanksgiving with Grammy and Grampy (and Uncle Phil and Tia Ale and Cousin Pierce)
We finally made our way back to Florida to kick it with the Krause clan.

We had so much fun exploring museums, relaxing at the beach, and hanging out with old friends.

It took Josie and Pierce a little while to get the hang of playing together but when they finally clicked, it was the CUTEST.

We spent Christmas with Uncle Paul and Tia Crystal (and Grandma + Papa)
We had a blast visiting the Trail of Lights, baking gingerbread cookies, and getting the new house ready. Well, maybe they didn't have blast on that final activity but we are sure appreciative!

Josie wrote Santa a note via her mother:

We moved!
We moved 2 days before Christmas whilst I was 5 months pregnant with a toddler in tow. Guys, don't try this at home.

And maybe killed our lawn with automatic sprinklers triggering during a freeze...

Until next time!

Xoxo,
